1) After everything that went down in the cave, the soldiers are not that interested in trying to reclaim any weapons the Aions took, so they can be kept. Not even worth it, frankly.

2) Responses to questions about the Regent come with a kind of practiced shallowness that seems intended to avoid saying anything too controversial. The Regent is very powerful and influential, of course! They are the one demanding they make this trip! (Please don't ask any further questions, seems to be the unspoken plea.)

As for maps, yes, they will share what they have. They'll show Eustace the map they use that is more or less what you see on the world map but with a focus on detailing the rivers and oceans rather than the landmass itself. Greentruth is also completely absent. The town of Triwater is the central position on the map, with several different docking areas indicated.

There are constellations, and they are completely foreign to what the new arrivals are familiar with. Eustace can learn about the intricacies of sailor navigational techniques. Most of the constellations mentioned are related to the Legacies somehow, and the equivalent of the "North Star" seems to be the "Seeker's Compass", which can be used to locate many other constellations by its relative position.

If Eustace is helping out, the sailors will warm up to him a bit, but they will still be mostly unwilling to discuss the Regent in any depth.
