Or at least, that's what Amos thinks this is, as far as he can tell, completely oblivious to the cavern separating him and Howl. As far as he knows, they both reached the same conclusions — their worlds are dead; they're not coming back; they accepted the Kenoma. How would they have gotten there through different means? Especially when he thinks he understands him.
Though if Howl had asked, Amos would have clarified: yeah, they might have to kill those who escaped the cavern one day. It happens.
But since he didn't, the thought's gone from his mind. It's not relevant, not now, so doesn't really mean anything to bring it up unless prompted.
