[ He tilts his head to the side slightly at her annoyance. It's not something he shares at all; he doesn't think there was a way for anyone to play along with the Kenoma if they didn't want to fully embrace it. At least, that's the experience he had. And it feels like a lot of others, too.

Either way, they all made their choices, and that's what was most important to him. If the Pleroma die a horrible death later, then they die a horrible death later. No skin off his nose.

Though it is much nicer being around Misa; being around someone who isn't going to try to argue against him and what's the obvious solution. Turns out like calling to like is much more pleasant.

He glances down at where his own shard lies. ]

Hadn't thought of it that way before. Maybe. [ In truth, he really doesn't know what to think about these things. ] I think they gotta explain them. We don't have magic where I'm from. Or... anything like this.

[ Amos pauses, slipping deeper into thought as he looks back down at where he knows his is. He doesn't look back up when he speaks again. ]

I think I know what you mean, about it always being there. I just... never thought I'd have something like this, is all.

[ And he doesn't mean that in the literal sense; of course nobody would ever expect to have a rock embedded in them. He means it in the sense she's talking about — something that's always been there on a deeper level, the level that gets to their very existence. Something he genuinely thought he'd always lacked, an empty shell of a person. Having a shard seems to contradict that, and he doesn't know what to make of it. ]
