FOR GEN:

( ironically, they must be after the same target.

on the list that the Kenoma had been given, the only name offered was "gibraltar." a pillar of his community, and a man that ran a modest shipping operation that ran from the bountiful fields outside of venera back into the city and its ports, so that their harvests might be sent... largely to achamoth. if he had kept his head down and kept playing it safe, perhaps he could have continued his efforts at skimming portions of the crop yield off the top and diverting them to the hungry of venera, hiding the discrepancies in clever manipulation of ledgers and shipping manifestos. but the injustice and indignity of living beneath the callous thumb of a foreign power could do a lot to a man, it had made this particular mark far more brazen in recent months, culminating in his active aid to the Pleroma when the Innocence contagion had run thick throughout this city like a miasma.

the easiest way to find such a man would be to descend quickly and decisively within the first few days, capturing him and leading him to his fate before he had time to sniff out that something was amiss and then go to ground. unfortunately, that hadn't been in the cards. the man was seemingly not the type to take up semi-permanent occupation in an office room, instead taking a hands-on approach with his operation. that had made him hard to pin down earlier on, and now that word has started to get out to those with seditious leanings, they were making themselves scarce. makoto feels strongly that this target hasn't escaped the city yet — but he might, if the net didn't close soon enough.

makoto and gen must have come to the same conclusion: the likeliest way to find out where the man had gone to ground was through his associates. it didn't seem that gibraltar had a family of his own, but he took up familial sort of role for his employees — a little cursory asking around and digging had gained him as much of a reputation. if that was the case, they had a loyalty to one another that wouldn't be broken or bought. it might be bent, however, and so he had done a little more investigating — before hunting down the young man, an associate of gibraltar's for many years, that gen very literally now had backed into a corner.

intimidation didn't seem like it was going very well. the man was young, brazen, idealistic, and indignant in the face of further oppression from achamoth — personal threats and bodily harm weren't doing much to loosen his lips. )

( he sighs as he approaches. ) Give it a rest, Minegishi-kun. ( he lifts one hand in a flippant gesture. ) Let me guess — he's no more willing to speak to you now than he was when you first started chatting with him, hm?

( the glamor makoto most commonly uses is one that actually leaves him with the same face, though it cuts his hair short, returns his eyes back to their typical dark color, and hides the scar from his neck and the shard at the base of his skull. he looks like the young man he'd been while human, dressed now in nondescript work clothes. which makes it all the more incongruous when he smiles a vicious little smile and continues, ) Why not let me have a try?
