It's not surprising that it would have come to this. Barnaby is used to harrowing days, sometimes back-to-back, where one emergency happens after another and he has to work long hours to save people under trying circumstances. But he isn't used to working alone on those jobs on top of all the investigative legwork, and his stamina is starting to flag. He's saved some people already, yes, but he knows he can't stop there, lest more lives slip through his fingers or those of the Pleroma. His betrayal has even been made clear to at least one Kenoma by now, and he's under no illusion now that the others would be kept in the dark, so he no longer bothers to hide his face.

He spots Marjorita from his vantage point on a rooftop-- or more accurately, he first hears the anguished cries of the man in distress, pleading for mercy. Of course it would be her. Even if she had shown she was capable of showing a softer side back at the beach, she and many of the other Kenoma were still, at heart, loyal to the Regent. And unlike the rest, she had been one of the ones keen to torment Venerans from the beginning.

He feels a flash of anger, and knows clearly what he has to do. He activates his Hundred Power to amplify his speed and strength, his eyes glowing blue and a blue aura overtaking his body. Then he takes a running leap from the roof, aiming a flying kick directly down at Marjorita.
