The smaller size of the orbs and the loss of element of surprise makes the blasts easier to account for, so he manages to avoid all of them.

He's gaining ground on her all the while, and once he's within a closer distance, he aims a punch at her stomach, aiming to slam her back into the wall and wind her, if the impact doesn't knock her out entirely.
