She shakes her head. That memory is all too vivid--and she's always known that the Regent had no particular use for her.

"They don't like Innocents. I'm not certain why, though...I'd noticed a few things in the cavern, when the first of us were there, so long ago. There was a destroyed throne, though every other Legacy had one. And it stood in opposition to mine. I just wonder if the Regent is the last vestige of a lost Legacy, empowered far beyond the rest because they are the last of their kind."

It sounds silly to her, really. But Meteion wonders if the Innocent knew something that she didn't, while equally suspecting it did. But regardless, because Meteion herself was Kenoma, she does figure that her own Legacy can't trust her, because they are in opposition. She'd told Emet-Selch this, but she doubted he'd given her much credence.
