There are much bigger, much more obvious clues than that, though. To say he looks 'different' would be a pretty gross understatement, because he's up three entire new limbs since Rand will have last seen him: a long, scaly tail, and two feathered wings, pure white in an echo of the Entity that marked him. There are other more minor changes as well; a smattering of scales, across some patches of skin, fingers that have become clawed, and larger ears that look almost more like a deer's than anything else.
The latter are a particular point of vexation, because there's an issue Ryunosuke has always had with his archery that he'd only just begun to get over, via a combination of Rand's instruction and regular practice.
