Emet-Selch is pretty tough so it probably wouldn't be enough to take him out of the fight, but if he wants to be in top form that's understandable!
We would allow for him to take over an NPC for this purpose (probably one of the soldiers nearby or something like that), though we would warn that T2s nearby would be able to see it's an Aion if any of his flesh is exposed. (T2 can really only see your spirit if it isn't covered up by cloth or what have you). Thankfully, Achamite soldiers are basically covered from head to toe so he'd have a decent chance at passing. He could hold onto an NPC for maybe an hour or so before letting go, in this case.
As for other Kenoma, he could! It would still be subject to constant will resistance from the Kenoma in question, but they wouldn't blender each other's souls in the same way, so provided he was latching on to a Kenoma that wasn't of strong will he could hold on for a few minutes.
