[ The uncontrollable rage is something that Kaeya could've handled. Nevermind the way it cuts through any attempt to keep his own thoughts composed and collected, the frenzied energy threatening to make him more frantic than normal. It would've been easy enough to figure out a way to smooth that over to keep his head clear, but then — the murderous intent that Amos has makes itself known. It overwhelms the spikes of concern and anxiety coming from the three of them, overtakes the rage that had been so prominent earlier on, and it's all Kaeya can focus on.

This reminds him of a stormy night, when he exposed everything that he'd ever kept a secret to the one he thought would be able to accept it easily. The way his honesty was met with a fury so righteous and unstoppable that he swore never to tell the truth again, only to break this promise to himself when he thought he could trust Amos. Amos had been steadfast and reliable and constant despite being met with his early ambivalence. Amos believed in him that he would come around, waited for him to let down his guard as one would with a stray animal who only ever had to rely on itself, so it only made sense to—

Right when Gen curses as he's pulled away from immediate danger, Kaeya realizes that Amos is so close, dangerously close to gutting him right there and then. He blinks out of existence at the very last moment, sharp claws cutting through the fabric of his clothes, dragging down a gash across his chest that bleeds immediately. When he reappears right next to Misa and Gen, he nearly stumbles backwards from both the shock and pain. It appears he's a lot more hurt than he first realized, but he powers through it in favour of helping Gen keep Amos preoccupied.

Four pillars made out of bitter cold ice shoot up from the ground, boxing the man in. An icy prison to compliment the rocks that now weigh Amos down, but once again, it's only buying them more time. ]

We have to find a way to contain him somehow. Or if we can knock him out, then—

[ At least that will give them the chance to think of a better way to stop him.

He glances towards Misa. ]

If Minegishi and I keep him distracted, will that give you an opportunity to use your ability?

[ Even trying to strategize like this is risky, but they have to figure something out or else Amos will destroy them all. ]
