( when he'd emerged from the Throne Room, fresh with the acceptance of the Kenoma, he had spread his wings for the first time in weeks and had reveled in the surprise and interest that they had garnered as much as a peacock might in the attention its plumage might bring. it's not exactly the type of self-aggrandizing pompousness that one might expect. it's not as though he had been born with these wings; no, he had specifically been proud of them because he'd only obtained them perhaps a day or so before being brought into horos, and he was proud of himself for having done so. proud of himself for having seduced and beguiled a man so profoundly that he would willingly give them away to makoto when he had already been planning on stealing them from him — oh, poor kieran, who had spoken softly and wistfully about the time they had spent together, even when makoto had been cutting the wings from his body and sewing them onto his own.

upon receiving this utterly plain and human body from J after becoming a demon, he had lamented its lack of features, and he had been told he would be given none of them. "you'll have to get them yourself," J had told him, and so he had. what's not to feel proud about that?

the sound of the honorific is quaint in his ear, and it's why he likes to use them purposefully sometimes, both speaking commonly on horosian here but also in more romance and germanic tongues in hell (for whatever reason). he looks thoughtful, and he nods at her answer. he has some vague understanding that her ability lies in a support role, though he isn't entirely certain what form and shape that aid might take.

places from which she can't be seen, though... hm.

he keeps thinking about it, instead answering her question first. the spread of his smile is a quick and graceful flourish, his words smooth and seemingly well-practiced. )
But of course. I would say that my talents lend themselves incredibly poorly to military defenses, so I have been trying to apply myself to areas where I might make more of an impact. If there's any way I could help any among our number best realize their own abilities, I would be content in that effort.

Like, for your search...

( he thinks a moment longer. )

It might not be the best option, ( the best would probably be utilizing invisibility or a network of tunnels, but he doesn't believe either of those options are really on the table right now, ) but perhaps predetermining a path of connected vantage points and sheltered paths, walkways, and alleys that might give you the best variety of options for hit-and-run tactics when the time comes would be worthwhile.

( a home town advantage is a precious one. they would do best not to squander it — the terrain is theirs to command. )
