[ There is a white, fluffy cat with the brightest green eyes in Kaeya's hands right now. It keeps pawing playfully at the fur trim of his coat, sharp nails catching onto stray threads but he manages to stop her before she unravels the whole damned thing. Normally he doesn't mind if she wanted to play around a bit more, but considering that this is one of his nicest coats, and his mood isn't exactly in the best of spots, he doesn't want to have more things to worry about. A ruined coat would definitely be enough to ruin his entire week. Entire month even, at the rate he's going.
He sighs, wondering how best to deal with this restless creature. It's not like the trip he's making is a long one in particular, but he does have to keep her entertained before she tries to jump out of his grasp and chase a random speck of light or something. Cats will always be so mysterious to him, and despite how long he's spent with her, he doesn't think he understands her any more than he should.
Oh well.
Luckily, she seems appeased when he tries to scratch her in between the ears, her lithe body curling into a ball as he keeps doing that. The sight of it is enough to draw out a fond smile from him, no matter how small and fleeting. What he wouldn't give to simply just be just like her without a single care in the world. He'd figured out how to control his newer powers of shifting into a bird thanks to the help he'd received from others, but it's not quite the same, he thinks, when he is still very much aware of what's going on and what happened in the past few weeks. Maybe if he tries hard enough, one of these days, he'll know how to keep his thoughts free of such worrisome things.
The feline meows, catching his attention once more. He starts scratching her again. ]
We're almost there. Be patient.
[ With the sun already making its way up to its usual throne behind the clouds, Kaeya knows that Childe will have finished his daily training regime during the crack of dawn. The Harbinger will (hopefully) be in his room, where Kaeya is headed right now, and even if he isn't, then Kaeya will just stay there and wait for him to return.
He knocks on his door once, twice. The cat in his hands meows again, as if announcing their arrival, and then he waits. ]
