Dextera is genuinely, strangely, surprised that Emet-Selch interrupts him. It’s another unexpected bit of concern, when everyone from his own world is content to let him discover various incredibly lethal dangers on his own. With relative immortality, Dextera has lost some sense of self-preservation.
