Hearing him word it like that does make Howl sound like... Ah, she should remain unbiased. It's evident nevertheless, than an emotionally repressed wizard and an emotionally overflowing one (repressed too to a certain degree maybe, but not by choice) were going to clash the moment they get into a significant disagreement.
