[ The way the sword strikes him, it feels like its effects vibrate right down to the very bone. Amos swings his arm back down, trying to shake it off, but that's probably gonna end up bruising, too. And he is so tired of swords — but at least he isn't taking meaningful damage this time.

It's when he tries to take another swing at Syrlya with his other hand that he teleports back again, putting considerable distance between them, and now Amos is just tired. In mind, because it's becoming clear this guy isn't going to be captured; in body, because even with a few days of rest after everything, he's put more miles on his body than he really cares for. At some point, he was going to hit a wall. If he hasn't already, then this is his body begging him to stop being he crashes headfirst into it.

He lets out an exhale, angry and recognizing the futility of this encounter. Maybe he's done here, after all — at least for the time being.

Still, he glares out at Syrlya. Takes another few steps forward, if only so his voice doesn't have to carry as far. ]

Well, this was productive. [ He isn't too tired to be petty and sarcastic, at least. ] Really think you're achieving something here, don't you.

[ In whatever this complete non-skirmish was. With Vaeka. With any resistance methods as a whole. But he's used to taking the long, winding road to get from Point A to Point B — and the Regent's eventual victory will just have to be found along that same path. ]
