Tsunami is in the process of carrying the carcass of a young taragyk into Greentruth. Given infinite choice, she would have preferred fish, but to her embarrassment she's still better at hunting prey on land than in water. It's not like she's really bad at fishing or anything, she just... hasn't spent as much time learning yet... and she was hungry.

She's vaguely aware that there are food options available that don't involve going into the forest to kill something and eating it raw, but she's feeling even more out of place here than in the Kingdom of the Sea. At least here nobody expects her to fit in—least of all herself—but still...

The end of the hadrosaur carcass's tail drags along the ground as she steps around the roots of one of Greentruth's large trees—only to stop as she comes across another Aion.

"Uhh, hey!" She puts down the dead baby dinosaur to call out to him, deciding it's probably better to announce herself first rather than take a human by complete surprise again. Especially a small one! This guy looks like he's probably younger than most of the other ones she's seen so far, if she had to guess...

If Tsunami didn't want to startle him... well, she tried her best. Yuya's very lost in thought when he hears her call out. And initially he looks over with a dull expression--until his brain registers he's looking at something large and blue right beside a very dead dinosaur.

That's the part that really spooks him.

"Whoa!" He jumps, his foot slipping against a raised root, His arms pinwheel, but he fails to find balance as he staggers and falls backwards to the ground.

Without thinking, Tsunami darts forward and catches him by the front of his shirt with her teeth before he falls all the way. She tugs him upright before she lets go.

"Sorry! Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. I was trying not to frighten you, actually... Oh, great, I think I got blood on your, uh..." She gestures with her wing at his shirt. She has no idea what to call that.

Yuya sways a little as he's pulled back to his feet, reaching the brace a hand on he tree.

"Um--it's okay.' He blinks rapidly, mildly stunned. "I was just surprised by... the..." He starts to gesture to the dinosaur when his brain finally catches up to Tsunami's appearance.

He gapes up at her "Are you a dragon?"

"... Yes?" she says, spreading her wings a little as if to... demonstrate... her dragon-ness. She glances at the hadrosaur carcass, and sort of awkwardly steps in front of it. That's hers!

"You're a human, right?" It pays to make sure.

[hippocarnival]

"Yeah..." Which isn't half as cool as being a dragon. Which is why he's still staring, mouth agape. "You're new, right? I mean--I just haven't seen you around before."

[wavetrain]

Tsunami nods. "Yeah, I just got here a little while ago." She tilts her head. "I'm... guessing you don't have dragons where you're from, huh?"

[hippocarnival]

Yuya starts a little, like he realizes he's being rude, finally.

"Uh--not real ones!" He rubs the back of his neck, at least looking appropriately sheepish. "Sorry, it's just... that's really cool."

[wavetrain]

"Haha, really?" She laughs. "Not, like... scary?"

[hippocarnival]

"Scary? No way!" Sorry if Tsunami wanted to be a scary and imposing dragon. "I've only read about dragons in books and..." Dragon-shaped spirits but, much as he loves Odd-Eyes and the other dragons, that's not exactly the same. "You're not one of the ones from the forest, right?"

[wavetrain]

"No, I'm from a different world, like all the rest of you guys." She tilts her head, peering at him. "You seriously aren't afraid of dragons?"

That's kind of a relief, honestly, but it's kind of hard to believe!

[hippocarnival]

"No way! Why would I be?" Okay, logically he knows reasons people would be afraid of Big and Full of Teeth. But like, dragons surpass literally all sense of self-preservation in him. They're so cool.

[wavetrain]

"Well... I could probably eat you?"

It's not very convincing. She doesn't sound convinced. She definitely could not eat a human, emotionally.

[hippocarnival]

Yuya's expression slips a little, and he glances sideways briefly. "But you already have that dinosaur?"

Impenetrable logic, clearly. He has much less delicious fat than that dinosaur.

[wavetrain]

Tsunami holds both forepaws up and shakes her head adamantly.

"No, no, I didn't mean--I mean, even before I knew you were people I kind of felt like you looked a bit too smart to eat, but now I do know I would absolutely never--I just meant, like, you know..."

She grimaces.

"It would make sense... if you were scared? But you don't need to be!" She picks up the dinosaur by its neck. It hangs there, dead-ly. "And I do already have this dinosaur!"

She sure does have a dinosaur corpse. Yuya finally cringes as it's held up, his cheery composure slipping. "Uh, yeah, you do. Are you going to... are you going to eat it like that?"

[wavetrain]

She blinks, looking down at the dinosaur and then back up to him.

"Um... yeah?"

How else would she eat it..

Okay... she's a dragon, it makes sense even if she's intelligent that maybe they don't. Cook things. just eat it off the bone. even if that seems really gross.
